A music therapist is someone that interacts with their client to improve any issues they may have. Their goal is to connect with the client and learn about them. The more they know about the client the easier it is for them to find music that suits them the best. Their goal is to bond with the client to help them heal.
How do you become a music therapist?
To become a music therapist you need to know a lot of information on music and be able to produce music to fit the clients standards. You need to get a college degree and take music therapy, psychology, music, social and behavioral sciences, biological and disabilities studies. You need to have a lot of experience for example job shadowing and an internship. You need to be passionate, patient, caring, an interest in helping people and can't give up easily because sometimes a client may get frustrated or angry. It may be hard but it's all worth it in the end. It is a very rewarding career because you get to heal and help people every day.
